The area of Richmond I grew up in used to be predominately Greek. I can thank them for my love of octopus and squid, and my vice of pilfering fruit and herbs from my neighbours. Now I occasionally go shopping with my Mum in Oakleigh, where a lot of Melbourne’s Greek community have now settled. It’s always a thrill to see all the beautiful produce there; they are at one with the sea.
